Course Description: A successful architect is mindful of acoustics and its effects on the health and welfare of the occupants for whom the space is being designed. Attendees will become familiar with these effects, how to manipulate interior acoustics, and the importance of accounting for acoustics early in the project design phase.

Course Objectives: 

  • Become are of the health and psychological effects of interior acoustics.
  • Understand the principles of sound: Reverberation, Reflection, Absorption and NRC Ratings.
  • Recognize the importance of accounting for acoustics early in the design phase.
  • Be knowledgeable of the current requirements, codes, mandates, and regulations regarding interior acoustics.
